Psychiatry doctor internship

Maale Hacarmel Mental Health Medical Center includes seven units recognized by the Scientific Council of the Israel Medical Association, for the purpose of doctor internship on two tracks.

• Four wards and one clinic for adult, recognized for internship in adult psychiatry.  
• A youth ward and Children and Youth Clinic, recognized for internship in child and adolescent psychiatry.

The internship program at the center is subject to the national curriculum of the Scientific Council for Internship in Psychiatry.
 
The program includes:
Internships at the hospital wards, the clinic, conducting a research assignment (basic science) and internship in the neurology ward outside the center.

There is a structured program of lectures and seminars, individual training in psychiatry and psychotherapy.

The training sessions are conducted by senior psychiatrists, by clinical psychologists, and by social workers trained in psychotherapy.
 
During the internship all the interns take part in additional training programs outside the institute, such as the Faculty of Continuing Studies in Tel Aviv, the Psychotherapy Study Institute, which is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, and other training programs.
 
Every interns is assigned with a senior specialized doctor, who guides him from day one and until the end of the internship.
 
The educational framework is designed to help the intern and train him to successfully pass the internship exams, Stage A written theoretical examination and Stage B oral examination.
